Solar video surveillance for remote locations
Video surveillance for sites with no power and no internet: a 4G solar-powered camera that runs on its own, alerts your phone and actively deters. For illegal dumping spots, remote land, construction sites and holiday homes.

About the service
No power, no internet
Some locations have neither power nor internet, and those are exactly the ones most exposed: a spot where someone dumps waste at night, a distant plot, a holiday home left unwatched over winter, a construction site on the edge of town, a stretch of land people cross without permission. Classic video surveillance isn't an option there because there is no cable and no network. Solar video surveillance solves precisely that case: the camera is fully self-contained, needs nothing to connect to and can stand for months without a single visit to the site.

Solar power and 4G
The camera runs off a built-in battery charged during the day by a solar panel, so it works all year without a mains connection. It goes online over a 4G/LTE SIM card, like a phone, so it needs no Wi-Fi or fibre on site. You watch it live from the app on your phone from anywhere, and the moment detection triggers you get a notification. AI tells a person or vehicle from an animal or a branch in the wind, so there are no constant false alarms and the battery isn't drained for nothing.

Active deterrence
The camera actively reacts, not just records. The moment someone enters the monitored area, it can switch on a powerful spotlight, play a pre-recorded voice message or sound a siren, whoever came to dump waste or cross without permission backs off as soon as they realise they're being watched and heard. Through two-way audio you can also speak to the person live, and colour night vision up to 30 metres means you clearly see the face, vehicle and plate at night too.

Install and relocate
Installation is quick and needs no building work: the camera is fixed to a pole, wall, fence or tree, aimed at the critical zone, and that's it, no digging, no cabling. If the problem moves elsewhere, you move the camera just as fast. Footage is kept on a memory card in the camera and, optionally, in the cloud, so you access and download it from your phone without going to the site.
Evidence and GDPR
Footage is also evidence. A clear record of a face and a licence plate counts when you report to the communal warden service, an inspectorate or the police, whether it's an illegal dump, theft from a site or unauthorised passage. For municipalities and companies we also handle the legal side: we put up the prescribed recording notices, aim the camera only at the problem zone and prepare GDPR-compliant documentation.
What it includes
For land, holiday home and plots
A distant plot, a holiday home with no power in winter, a vineyard or orchard, a boat in the marina, anything too far from infrastructure to run a cable. Set the camera up yourself or we do it, and you follow it from your phone.
- Works with no power or internet on site
- Phone notification on person detection
- Moves easily when the need changes
For companies and municipalities
Illegal dumps, construction sites, open-air storage, landfills and farmland. For local authorities and warden services the camera records who brings waste and when, with footage that holds up in misdemeanour proceedings.
- Monitoring of illegal dumps and unauthorised passage
- Face and plate footage as evidence for wardens
- Recording notices and GDPR documentation in place
How we work
From your call to full monitoring in four steps
Call and assessment
You call or send an enquiry. In a short conversation we define what we're protecting, from what and by when. For premises we arrange a free site visit.
Plan and quote
We carry out a risk assessment and a written quote with exact equipment, headcount and price. No hidden items, with the delivery deadline in writing.
Delivery
System installation or team deployment to plan. For technical systems: installation, configuration and handover with training for use.
Monitoring and maintenance
With contracted monitoring, the alarm receiving centre takes over 0 to 24, and periodic servicing keeps the system in working order. One call and a technician is on site.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions: solar surveillance
01Does the camera need power or internet on site?
No. It runs off a battery charged by a solar panel and connects over a 4G SIM card. All the location needs is a decent mobile signal; power and internet are not required.
02How long does it run without sun?
A charged battery typically lasts several days without charging, and the panel tops it up as soon as there is light, so in normal conditions it runs continuously all year. For sites with long overcast spells we choose a larger panel and battery or plan occasional charging.
03Can it record people dumping waste or trespassing?
Yes. Detection recognises a person and a vehicle, records the face and plate day and night, and the spotlight, voice message and siren actively deter. The footage then serves as evidence for the warden service, an inspectorate or the police.
04Where is footage stored?
On a memory card in the camera itself and, optionally, in the cloud. You review and download it straight from your phone without visiting the site; motion recording extends how long material is kept.
05May I record a public area, e.g. an illegal dump?
Within the rules. We aim the camera solely at the problem zone, put up the prescribed recording notices and prepare GDPR-compliant documentation. For municipalities and companies we handle that as part of the setup.
